Fast Track Programme

What is the Fast Track Programme?

A joint College of Policing (COP)/Force promotion and development programme that supports talented individuals to advance to the most senior ranks of the Police Service. You should be a serving constable looking to reach the rank of Inspector within two years and have the ambition and capability to make it to at least Superintendent.

The COP supports individuals' continuing development to provide a cadre of officers with the skills, experience and capacity to reach senior ranks of the service.

Do you have the:-

  • potential, motivation and ability to be a future Senior Police Leader and reach at least the rank of Superintendent?
  • capability to bring new ways of thinking, diversity of thought and experience and different perspectives into the police service resulting in organisational cultural change by effectively influencing the way that policing operates?
  • ambition to use your skills and experience to play your part in modernising the Police Service leadership of the future?
  • motivation to take control of your own Continuing Professional Development?
  • ability to reach and perform competently in the rank of Inspector within two years?

AIMS OF THE PROGRAMME

To identify, attract and develop the most talented constables from within the Police Service who will bring new perspectives, diversity of thought and background who will have a positive influence supporting the continuing development of policing  and impact on the management and culture of the service.
