The College of Policing has reviewed the entry points into policing following a number of recommendations made in the leadership review.
In particular, that of recommendation 4 to consider repositioning of the Fast Track external route of entry to provide a Direct Entry programme at the rank of Inspector. Following consultation with forces, discussion across the profession and consideration by the Board of the College of Policing, it was agreed that the College will not be offering the Fast Track programme for external applicants in 2016. The decision not to offer Fast Track to external candidates in 2016 is absolutely no reflection on the current cohorts but is part of the rapid change of 180 years of traditional routes of entry into policing.
A new programme – Direct Entry at Inspector is being offered in 2016. Please click here for more details.
The Fast Track programme for serving officers will continue to be offered. If you are a serving Police Constable visit the Fast Track Programme for Serving Constables for more information
